As the sun set on a cool and breezy evening, the Salt Flat Pickers rocked their set at Victory North in front of an enthusiastic crowd. It was the day of the inaugural Savannah Bluegrass Festival, and we were honored to be a part of it.

The festival kicked off in the courtyard, where the air was filled with the sweet sounds of banjos, fiddles, and guitars. Talented out-of-towners, Remedy Tree and Colby T. Helms, also helped set the stage for what was to become an unforgettable night of music.

As the crowd swelled and the energy grew, we moved inside Victory North for the headlining sets by Swamptooth and the renowned Yonder Mountain String Band from Colorado. The music was electrifying, and the audience’s enthusiasm was palpable. We soaked in every moment, knowing we had to leave early to set up for the late night shenanigans.

After the festival, the night was far from over. We hosted a “super jam” at Over Yonder, a popular bar in midtown Savannah. It was a chance for us to unwind and celebrate with fellow musicians and fans. Although Remedy Tree had to leave early for another show, members from every other band joined us, picking and singing until the early hours of the morning. The camaraderie and shared love for bluegrass music created an atmosphere that was nothing short of magical.

As we played our last song and the crowd cheered for more, we couldn’t help but feel grateful for the journey that brought us here. From our humble beginnings at the weekly bluegrass picks at Savannah Guitar Lutherie & Mercantile to this incredible moment, it’s been a wild ride.

The Savannah Bluegrass Festival was a huge success, and we are thrilled to have been a part of it. To everyone who came out to support us and to all the musicians who shared the stage with us, thank you from the bottom of our hearts. We can’t wait to see what the future holds, and we’re already looking forward to next year’s festival.

Until then, keep picking and keep smiling.

With love and gratitude.
